INTER-LIBRARY ORGANIZATIONS
The volunteers of Second's Church
Library are also associate members of the Shelby
Baptist Associational Church Media Library Council.
The purpose of this countywide organization
is to meet occasionally to encourage each other
in the work and to offer training opportunities.One
distinctive feature of the group's calendar
is a Fall banquet with a speaker, generally
a representative who deals with library issues
in the Tennessee Baptist Convention or Southern
Baptist Convention.
Second Baptist Church hosts the
banquet about every six to eight years.Our current
Library Coordinators are members of the American
Library Association and Tennessee Library Association
and through reading various library publications
and attending conferences keep current with
local and national issues in the field of librarianship
