Camp Second

God’s love is emphasized in all that we do at Camp Second.  Our goal is to communicate God’s love for each camper through biblical truths and to give campers the opportunity to develop relationships with others and experience God’s love in a simple country setting.  The Thought for the Day is carried through into Outback Olympics, crafts, missions, and Bible study.  At evening worship and sing time this thought is reinforced to build kids’ faith in an environment of excitement and fun.

Our theme for 2017 will be from Micah 6:6-8, “Do, Love, Walk.” Camp Second is for children currently in grades 2-5. Registration packets are available for parents in the church office. Applications and fee of $330 is due no later than May 7. Need-based scholarships are available upon request. Prospective youth chaperones currently in 8th grade or older are asked to apply by May 7. Adult chaperones are needed, so please contact Julia if you would like to serve!

Afternoon Recreation for cabin small groups includes a wide variety of choices such as swimming, tennis, water balloons, volleyball, basketball, archery, soccer, disc golf, canoeing, and fishing!  Swim tests are administered on the first day of camp to check skill levels. A certified lifeguard is on duty.

Nightly Special Features: Campers gather at the BIG HOUSE each night to participate in good ’ole fun times!  Monday night has endless possibilities as team building challenges are presented to the campers.  A hay ride through the fields and pastures of The Country Place help campers get in tune with nature and the farm animals that roam those grounds.  Campers share their talents with each other in the annual talent show while skit night is a time to show the creativity of each cabin group. Bring your talent and your skits to Camp Second! Friday night is a special time of gathering for campers and staff. Awards for the events of the week are presented and a special lakeside chapel service is held under the stars!

All children currently in grades 2-5 are eligible to attend this life changing week at The Country Place in Moscow, TN.  The cost is $315 per camper and includes room, meals, snacks and transportation.
